Welcome

Call to Worship

We begin our story, gathering courage, love, mindfulness, and a sense of purpose. We gather as people of all ages, of different abilities, different backgrounds, and different perspectives. We share a covenant, a direction for our shared journey, and a commitment to encourage and challenge one another to spiritual growth.

This path will ask much from us. Let us move forward with love. Let us move forward with appreciation for one another. Let us move forward knowing we are not alone. Whoever you are, whatever your gifts, you are welcome to join this journey.

Blessed is the fire that burns deep in the soul. It is the flame of the human spirit touched into being by the mystery of life. It is the fire of reason; the fire of compassion; the fire of community; the fire of justice; the fire of faith. It is the fire of love burning deep in the human heart; the divine glow in every life. Lyrics

Morning Has Broken (Cat Stevens)

Morning has broken like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing,
Praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the world.

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight,
Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play.
Praise with elation, praise ev'ry morning,
God's recreation of the new day.

(Repeat 1st verse)

Here Comes the Sun (George Harrison)

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right
It's all right

My Little Shed (John Shuba)

I like it here in my little shed

Got plenty to drink, and my dog's well fed

These oaken floors they know my tread

I couldnt ask for anything more

This dumb ole dog aint got a name

But he comes when i call him just the same

He stands guard by my feet though he's blind and lame

I couldnt ask for anything more

Got this ole shotgun from my old man

And he got it from his from what i understand

Though the breech is rusty the trigger's in hand

I couldnt ask for anything more

Solid oaken walls to match the floor

Got boards on the windows and a bar across the door

You wanna get in you know whats in store

Got a pound for my father got a nickel for my wife

Eight meters for the man upstairs

10 cubic yards of holy ground

Thats mine Thats mine. Thats mine

I heard them coming from a mile away

I expected it sometime but not today

Dont make no difference anyway

I couldnt ask for anything more

They said hey brother we just wanna talk

Man to man, crow to cock

Now you dont want us to break this lock

I couldnt ask for anything more

My silent voice said it all

The old dog shook and started to bawl

Murmurred rumblings heard through the wall

I couldnt ask for any thing more

All right then brother if you wanna live

I dont see any alternative

Tell me brother whatcha gonna give

Got a pound for my father got a nickel for my wife

Eight meters for the man upstairs

10 cubic yards of holy ground

Thats. Mine. Thats. Mine. Thats. Mine

The axeman cometh he began to laugh

The bar on the door split with a couple of whacks

My dads ole shotgun cut him right in half

And i couldnt ask for anything more

The shotgun hole let in the morning sun

And I knew finally my work was done

This Little Light of Mine (Stephen Scott)

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. (x3)
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine. (x3)
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Won't let anyone blow it out, I'm gonna let it shine. (x3)
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. (x3)
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
