Theme: Boundaries and Foundations

Welcome

Call to Worship

Prayer of Confession (open)

  •  God of compassion, have mercy upon us. Bring healing to our relationship with all your creation.
  • We confess our lack of gratitude for the beauty and bounty of your creation: teach us to see that your earth sustains us and all that lives.
  • We’ve often taken for granted its beauty and abundance, and treated all its inhabitants unjustly,
  • holding future generations hostage to our greed.

Prayer of Confession (close)

  • Renew in us the resolve to tend and keep your earth as you desire and intend,
  • So that we may care for one another and for all your creatures,
  • according to your will and in the fullness of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lyrics:

PSALM 104 (verses 5-9)

You built foundations

for the earth,

    and it

    will never be shaken.

You covered the earth

with the ocean

    that rose

    above the mountains.

Then your voice thundered!

And the water flowed

      down the mountains

    and through the valleys

    to the place you prepared.

Now you have set boundaries,

so that the water will never

    flood the earth again.

TREES by Twenty One Pilots

I know

Where you stand

Silent

In the trees

And that's

Where I am

Silent

In the trees

Why won't you speak?

Where I happen to be

Silent

In the trees

Standing cowardly

I can feel your breath

I can feel my death

I want to know you

I want to see

I want to say

Hello

Hello

Hello-o-o

Hello

I know

Where you stand

Silent

In the trees

And that's

Where I am

Silent

In the trees

Why won't you speak?

Where I happen to be

Silent

In the trees

Standing cowardly

I can feel your breath

I can feel my death

I want to know you

I want to see

I want to say

Hello

Hello

Hello-o-o

Hello

Praise to the Lord, The Almighty

Praise to the Lord,

The Almighty, the king of creation!

O my soul, praise Him,

For He is thy health and salvation!

All ye who hear,

Now to His temple draw near;

Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord,

Who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,

Shelters thee under His wings,

Yea, so gently sustaineth!

Hast thou not seen

How thy desires ever have been

Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord,

O let all that is in me adore Him!

All that hath life and breath,

Come now with praises before Him.

Let the Amen sound from His people again,

Gladly for aye we adore Him.
